Andal airport to start operations from mid 2012
Bengal Aerotropolis Projects (BAPL), the company building an airport city near Andal in Burdwan, will commence operations by July 2012 despite disquiet over land compensation and a squabble between two Indian promoters. Construction work at the site spanning more than 1,820 acre along the National Highway 2 is at full swing. BAPL plans to complete the runway by December. Construction of the passenger terminal and air traffic control will commence post June.
