    Dear Sir,

I am working a Real Estate company, now we are going to start Constructions of Villas, and Row houses, But the construction part we are giving to subcontract ( for material & labour ) , The sub contractor,s raising a bill stage wise completion of work, they charged service tax 12.36% *40% & VAT 2% of Total Cost.

Now my doubt is can we make a bill to the client?. stage wise , If raised a bill what are the taxes applicable ? , Kindly suggest.

    thanks

You can raise the bill stagewise. You may apply the same tax rate which the sub-contractor is charging to you. although we normally give advice after going through all the contract terms. In case u wish to consult properly, please email us your query with all details at info@consultconstruction.com

Thanks for your response, Somebody(consultants) advised me , to take abatement method 25% that means 3.09% service tax of Total Cost & 1.25% of VAT of Total cost if treated as a builder. Mu point is What is that ? 1.25% Vat, is it correct?
